Often, an arc welding machine has two identical female quick-connect quarter-turn sockets. The ground cable and the clamp cable each have a male quarter-turn connector. They are identical for the simple reason that it is possible to change the polarity depending on the weld to be performed or the type of electrode used. Here too, there are several cross-sections to be respected depending on the amperage. As for the welding cable, called the secondary cable, it connects the welding machine connector to the electrode holder clamp, the same applies to the ground clamp. The secondary cable is defined by its cross-section measured in mm², it is composed of a multitude of strands of copper wire and is generally covered with PVC.
